Spelling test success!!!!!

Ian got 10 out of 10 CORRECT!!!!!!!! And Brennan did not receive his test back but he told me that he got them all correct as well!!!!!!! I am so proud of my little guys.

On to a new week of spelling words. I know this past test has given the boys the extra confidence to continue doing awesome on their spelling test.

You would think it's the S.A.T

Ian and Brennan have a spelling test every Friday. Because they are some of the youngest in their class, this has been somewhat of a struggle. This week I thought the words were tough: pick, pack, tack, sack, back, sick, is, they, walk, and big. (I did that from memory!!!) I know they may look easy, but the boys were struggling with several (many) of them. They worked so hard at home with me this week on learning the words. Between last night and this morning before school they probably took close to 15 "spelling tests". I know that sounds like a lot, but we had so much fun with it. You could see the excitement on their faces when they knew they had them right. At the end of each test they would run up to me to try and be the first paper that was looked at. It really was fun! They each had several PERFECT papers!!!!

So, here I sit (sit? yah right!) at home for the next several hours waiting for the boys to bring me home their spelling tests. I actually have a nervous feeling in my stomach. Wow! Do I really sound like an over protective parent or what (well at least one that probably needs more things to worry about than a spelling test, huh)? I just know that they can do well on this test and hope they did their best. Not expecting perfect papers (although that would be really nice), but papers that show great effort! I guess I'm probably pretty normal.......maybe!

Sunday night fun!

After everything was organized this past weekend and absolutely in plain sight, Brennan decided it would be a good idea if they did a craft. He got started first and then he begged Ian to come in to do it also.

Here is Brennan working on his craft. At this point they decided they were going to make one for their Kindergarten and First Grade teachers. Isn't that sweet!

Ian had to make them for three teachers total because he has a student teacher currently in his classroom.

And then Brennan thought it looked like more fun to play with his Daddy and little sister, so he ditched the project idea. =)

Just a short break before the tickle monster appears again!

He's BAAAACK!!!!!

This is my favorite picture. Totally captures the GREAT time these three were having!!!

And Ian was still having a BLAST working on his project. He was so intent on finishing these before bedtime so he could take them to school the next day.

And look at my big guy's completed projects. I'm so proud of him for finishing what he started. I'd say he's pretty proud of himself as well!!!!!

Being organized is GREAT!

We had a great weekend this past weekend. It was a WORK weekend around the house. Usually not that much fun, but you have to make the best of it. Jesse powerwashed the house and trust me for my 100% German husband that was pure ecstasy. Sunday he sealed the driveway and did other odds and ends jobs.

I was at the point that there were things within the house that were driving me absolutely nuts. Since I babysit out of the my house I tend to have kid crap, I mean crafts and stuff, EVERYWHERE!!! The hall closet was a disaster!!! And I had absolutely had enough of the chaos in the toyroom. As hard as I would try to keep it organized it would never last. So now everything has a spot. The only thing allowed in the toy box is stuffed animals and baby dolls, most of the toys are now put in clear plastic containers and labled, even my project stuff that I use with the kids is in the toy room. Try to contain your excitement, but I posted pictures below. It's going to take work to keep it so organized, but I have faith that it will happen.

The Incredibles

Trish and I took the kids to McDonalds before we went to The Incredibles on Ice. The kids were all super excited to be together and of course over the top excited about being at McDonalds and THEN to go see the show! We were definitely noticed in McDonalds.
Had a terrific time at the show. We had all of the kids bring $10.00 with them of their birthday money and they put that towards the light sword thingy they wanted. Of course Trish and I had to put more money to each thing because the souveniers are way over priced. Brennan did decide that he was going to be really unhappy with my decision not to buy a $4.00 soda. After a little talk in the bathroom he found a smile to put back on his face.
Bren dreaming about that soda he's not going to get.

Can you tell the show was a little loud when it started?

I think this is right before they accidentally tapped this guy.

And this is right after the guy corrected MY kids.

Wow! This is cool!!

Finally, Two Year Pictures!

Yesterday, I took Chrissi to have her two year pictures taken. They wanted me to also use the Fall background, but I protested. I was already late on her pictures, I didn't really need the proof in the pictures. Like my friend Kim said, at that point I might as well have stamped "LATE" across the pictures.

Chrissi was not really too happy about having her picture taken. Normally at Portrait Innovations they take over 100 pictures. We had exactly 31. On the bottom two pictures I am what is propping Chrissi up. There is a VERY hot drape across me. I was almost wringing wet by the time we got a few shots.

After we had the pictures taken we took them to show my mom at her work. Chrissi was the hit of the doctors office. She cried so hard when we left, kind of a mini fit, because she wanted to stay with BaMa. I am positive that made my mom's day!!!!!

Chrissi cuteness

Coloring is one of Chrissi's most favorite things in the world to do!

This weekend we went to the Lake for a relaxing weekend. My mom had Chrissi in their bedroom Saturday morning and decided to see if she'd cooperate for a few pictures. I think they turned out just absolutely adorable. I know I'm a bit partial, but I bet you'll think the same! =)
Chrissi is so proud of herself, she automatically says cheese (about 30 times) everytime you bring out the camera. Good thing my parents never make their bed at the Lake or we wouldn't have had such a cool backdrop for the picture session. (I know my Dad is cringing while he reads this, because he does not like an unmade bed!)

"I am NOT going to smile for this picture and you can't make me!"

To get Chrissi to lay down for this picture I was laying on the floor in front of her so she would imitate me. It worked.
Well it worked for one picture and then she thought it would be even more fun to come and jump on my back than to lay there staring at me!

Question for my blogger buddies

Has anyone had their blog made into a book? I know this is definitely possible and I really want to do it. Leave me a comment and let me know how you did it!

Thanks!

Life

WOW!!! What a week!!!

Chrissi is doing wonderful without her pluggie. Well except for the long ride home from apple picking on Saturday. Nightmare car ride does not even describe. I think at one point I wanted to throw myself out onto the highway (but besides that the day was a blast and more on that later).

Brennan went to the ENT last week and we have decided that he will have his adenoids and tonsils removed in October. (more on that later).

Last Thursday while it was pouring down rain I was finger motioned out to the bus in the afternoon by the bus driver. If the boys do not follow the bus rules they are going to be written up. Just another issue for us to tackle. UGH!!!!!!!! They were grounded from PS2 and Wii ALL weekend long. Definitely got them where it hurt. (Hurt me and Jess as well!) Did I mention that my dad helped convince them to act right on the bus as well? As I mentioned it was pouring down rain and he kind of made the situation real by dramatically talking about them having to walk to school in the rain.

That night we went to Disney on Ice, which was really The Incredibles on ice (that we saw 2 years ago), but they just changed the name. The boys didn't really remember it and we had a super fun time! We went with Trisha, Elyssa, and Kiki. (more on that later, including pictures) By the way, a big thank you to my good friend Jaime for the tickets!!!!

Sunday morning I called my mom, who was at the Lake, from Target to let her know about some great deals that I had found. We talked for about 5 minutes and then I asked when her and dad were coming home. She informed me they were leaving shortly because they needed to take my dad to the ER once they were home. The Lake is a bit over two hours from home. She told me they thought it was an appedicitis. Long story short Jesse ended up convincing them not to take a chance with that and to go to the hospital there. It was an appendicitis and he needed immediate surgery. He had a big bubble in his appendix, thankfully it did not rupture. I have to admit that I was pretty worried. NOTHING is EVER wrong with my dad. It was hard not to be there. He was released from the hospital yesterday and the did end up driving home in the afternoon. He is doing ok, definitely still in pain. The guy has had one hell of a year!!!!! (Mom, you too!) Please say a prayer for my dad to get up and about quickly........and maybe for life in general to ease up for my parents. (If you know my family you know what I'm talking about, if you don't I'm sorry I don't want to divulge their information on the internet.)

Hopefully this week will be a little less eventful!!! I guess a girl can dream, huh? =)

It's gone for GOOD!!!

Life is good! Chrissi is pluggie-less and super duper happy! I will admit that Wednesday day was from HELL!!! She was so upset all day long, but I don't think she could really pinpoint why. Naptime was a complete disaster!!! She screamed for well over an hour in her bed. It was AWFUL!!! But after her nap she turned a corner. She was so super sweet. I was working on the computer that evening upstairs in the bonus room (it's like a loft area I guess.......but we still call it what it was labeled on our floor plan when the house was being built, weird name huh?) and Chrissi kept bringing me baby dolls and other stuff from her room. I finally nixed working and sat on the floor and played toys with her. She was just in the best mood that I've seen in awhile. It was such a fun evening and I can't believe the difference that a few hours made in her mood and grieving over the loss of the pluggie!

I am so proud of her and know that if Chrissi can do it, there is hope for all children out there that are completely obsessed with their pacifier!!!! I think that she is actually happier without it if that makes any sense!!!

Bye, bye pluggie - first update

I took Chrissi's pluggie away!!!! We went to the Lake this past holiday weekend and I realized what a pain in the butt her pluggie actually has become. At one point I was searching the condo from top to bottom because Chrissi was so upset that we couldn't find it. I took her to the doctor a few weeks ago for her two year check up and was advised it was time to let it go. I figured I'd wait a little longer, but low and behold Monday was the night. I cut the pluggie when Chrissi wasn't looking. When she went to grab it off the hutch and put it in her mouth it fell out. "Oh no!!! Wookey!!!! My pwuggie bwokey! Oh NO!" We told we'd have to buy a new one.

I'm not going to lie, it's been rough. She goes through her periods of completely looking for it, but I can usually distract her. When she wakes up she is upset because that is the first thing she grabs. I guess our baby that stays in bed until 8:30 is a thing of the past!!!! But what a big girl you are, Chrissi!!!!

I'll update later about how today is going!!!
