(Warning, this may be too much info for some.)
That is the song that is being sung around my house. My big girl has using the "big girl potty" mastered!!! It started out three weeks ago. We decided to try to potty train her over the weekend. Not once did she do anything in the potty. We decided at that point that she just wasn't ready and went back to diapers. By that following Sunday (Mother's Day) she was simply miserable. Poor thing was so confused she was not peeing or pooping in her diaper. She was walking around holding herself. Before we went to Linda and Gary's for the day, Jesse and I took her to the Pediatric Urgent Care to rule out a UTI. When we walked in the waiting room she let go of her bladder and pee'd all over the floor. She even had a diaper on, but she was holding so much urine the diaper was not enough to hold it all. There was no UTI and the doctor told us to absolutely not potty train yet and stop talking about it.
We did not talk about it or anything and by Wednesday we were facing the same issues. Chrissi was even more miserable this time. I decided at that point to not listen to the doctor since she obviously wasn't going to wet or poop in her diaper it was time to potty train for real. All it took was for me to sit in the bathroom for 45 minutes and her to potty once and she pretty much had it down. She has only had one potty accident and no poop accidents. She of course LOVES to go to the bathroom all the time right now, especially when we are out in public. But that is just part of it. After she finally checks out the bathrooms at most places we go that should end. (At least it did with the boys, I'm hoping this is a similarity both sexes share.) She is loving her big girl panties and is so proud to show anyone that wants to see. Of course I'm not posting a picture on here since it is a public blog.
We are so proud of our big girl!!
